Roland drops pair of NOAA games at Stilwell

Stilwell boys 66, Roland 60 The Class 3A fourth-ranked Rangers (15-2 overall) outscored the 4A No. 7 Indians (15-2) 21-12 in the third period to tie the score at 44-all but Stilwell reclaimed the advantage in the final eight minutes to register the NOAA win.

In the first quarter Peyton Whisenant and Kyeree Hall (6 points apiece) each made three 2-point field goals and Carson Wiggins (5) hit a 3-pointer as Roland grabbed a 19-14 lead.

Desean Cruse and Hall scored two points each in the second stanza but the Indians led 3223 at the half after outscoring the Rangers 18-4.

Whisenant registered 11 of his game-high 20 points in the third period and Davohn Hall added six to help the Rangers erase the deficit.

In the final eight minutes Wiggins and Kyeree Hall recorded six and five points, respectively, and Whisenant knocked down his third 3-pointer of the contest but Stilwell outscored Roland 2216.

Trailing Whisenant in scoring for Roland in the game were Kyeree Hall (15 points), Wiggins (13), Davohn Hall (8) and Cruse (4).

Stilwell’s top three scorers were Colima Ramirez (19 points), Codey Petree (18) and Cole Kimble (10).

Stilwell girls 40, Roland 38

The Class 4A Lady Indians (11-6 overall) edged the 3A No. 16 Lady Rangers (10-7) in the conference contest Friday night inside the Stilwell Activity Center.
