One injured in two-vehicle collision
A two-vehicle collision that happened Friday on Cherokee Ave. between Dollar General and Firstar Bank resulted in the arrest of a Sallisaw man, according to Sallisaw Police.
A two-vehicle collision that happened Friday on Cherokee Ave. between Dollar General and Firstar Bank resulted in the arrest of a Sallisaw man, according to Sallisaw Police.
Sallisaw Police officer LaLita Armer reported Lawrence H. Babb, 57, was driving a 2016 Dodge truck when he exited the private drive of Dollar General and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Armer said Babb’s vehicle then struck a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox traveling westbound driven by Chrystal G, Schulz, 44, of Sallisaw. Armer said Schulz’s vehicle traveled 21 feet after hitting the south curb and rolling, landing upside down against a city light pole. She reportedly sustained a head injury in the collision.
Babb was taken into custody and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the accident report.
