A lady once told me that there are people who are green fruit — they hang around until time ripens them. It was her way of saying that undeveloped people are all along the way. If we will be patient they will mature. But we have seen people spoil before they ever reached the ripening stage.

We are all green fruit to some degree. Life does not develop us, we develop it. We have to be teachable and want to learn. It is the art of getting along with others, to be able to live with and enjoy them without resentment.
Some people develop a tougher skin and are able to sidetrack their energies but if any of us think we are past improving, past the need to become better people, then we can rely on the fact that life will do it for us.
