Webbers Falls wins vs. Indianola in regular-season finale

Webbers Falls beat Indianola 51-25 Tuesday night at home, and the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors did their part to ensure a sweep in the regular-season finale with a 58-31 downing of the Indianola girls.

The Webbers Falls boys were led offensively by Jaxon Swearingen with 17 points, followed by Stryker Chappell with 12. For the girls, the top scorers for Webbers Falls were Anistyn Garner and Bridgette Baer with 19 and 18 points apiece, respectively.

Indianola struggled to keep pace with Webbers Falls all night, as the Warriors put the game away early, outscoring their guests 25-4 in the first quarter behind the one-two scoring punch of Chappell with 10 points and Swearingen with eight points.

In the second stanza, Indianola trimmed the Webbers Falls advantage to 32-14 by halftime.

Webbers Falls (9-10) added to its lead in the third period, before the teams played to a 7-7 stalemate in the fourth frame enroute to Indianola losing for the 20th time in 21 games.

The Lady Warriors (15-4) started off by making four three-pointers and a foul shot for a 13-5 first-quarter edge, then increased their lead to 31-12 by intermission.

The second half was more of the same, with Webbers Falls outscoring Indianola 18-8 in the third period, before the visitors (5-16) bettered their hosts, 11-9, in the final frame.
