Muldrow defeats Eufaula after honoring seniors

Muldrow defeated Eufaula in non-conference play on Senior Night Friday inside the Roger Sharp Activity Center.

Muldrow defeated Eufaula in non-conference play on Senior Night Friday inside the Roger Sharp Activity Center.

Muldrow girls 56, Eufaula 30 The Class 4A No. 11 Lady Bulldogs (18-3 overall) led the 3A No. 18 Lady Ironheads (12-8) 20-5 at the end of the opening period Friday night on their way to registering their fifth-straight win.

Kennedi Wight (6 points), Claire Tabor and Mason Anstine (4 each) and Carmen Fields and Cailey Grinstead (3-pointer apiece) provided Muldrow’s scoring in the first eight minutes.

Fields (5 points) hit her second trey of the game in the second period and Tabor made a pair of 2-point baskets as the Lady Bulldogs widened (13-5) their advantage (3310).

Wight (7 points) and Anstine (5) each knocked down a 3-pointer in the third quarter to help Muldrow outscore Eufaula 14-8.

Jensi Fields hit a trey in the fourth frame for the Lady Bulldogs.

Wight led all scorers in the game with 15 points and also registering points for Muldrow were Anstine (9), Carmen Fields and Tabor (8 each), Grinstead (7), Jensi Fields (3), Maysi Fields and Chloee Clark (2 apiece) and Katelynn Moore (1).

Scoring for Eufaula were Avery Williams (7 points), Kate Pippenger and Madison Ballard (5 each), Shyanne Madewell (4), Jordas McClish and Ava Rose Johnson (3 apiece), Kambry Williams (2) and Johna Bumgarner (1).

Muldrow boys 50, Eufaula 41 The Bulldogs (13-7 for the season) outscored the visiting Ironheads (8-11) 19-6 in the third quarter and Trenden Collins recorded a game-high 31 points Friday night as Muldrow downed Eufaula in a non-conference contest. In the first eight minutes Collins (5 points) hit a 3-pointer but the Eufaula went in front 10-7.

The Bulldogs erased (10-7) the deficit in the second period and Collins (two 3-pointers) scored Muldrow’s points.

The teams were tied 17-all at the half.

Collins (7 points), Parker Sevenstar (three 2-point field goals) and Andrew Luttrell (two 2-point baskets) helped the Bulldogs take a 36-23 lead to the fourth after outscoring Eufaula by 13 points in the third stanza.

In the final frame Collins (9 points) went 6-for-6 at the foul line and hit his fifth trey of the contest and Drew Prewett added a 3-pointer but Eufaula’s Jake Parish registered 12 of his teamhigh 20 points as the Ironheads sliced four points (18-14) off the deficit.

Trailing Collins in scoring for Muldrow in the game were Sevenstar (8 points), Luttrell (6), Prewett (3) and Teaguen Collins (2).

Talon Weaver (13 points), Jentry James (5), Landon Mills (2) and Riley Morgan (1) trailed Parish in scoring for Eufaula.
