Gans students enjoy Career Fair
Dear Editor, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Renee Claborn, Muldrow High School Counselor, and Clifta Fugett, Muldrow Superintendent, for allowing the Gans senior class to attend their Wednesday, Feb. 8, Muldrow High School Career Fair.
Our students could choose five careers they were interested in and visit with someone actually in the field. There were almost 30 businesses, including Cherokee Nation and military representatives available. The guests included many from Sequoyah and Cherokee Counties and the Fort Smith area.
It was a great way to celebrate National Counselor Week and fulfill a work-based experience for the Individual Career Academic Plan (ICAP) for graduation!
I would also like to thank the Gans administrators, Superintendent Larry Calloway and Principal Regina Brannon for making it possible for us to go. And thanks to the Gans faculty for allowing our seniors to miss their morning classes.
We have a great group of counselors in our county and Eastern Oklahoma!
Thanks again to the Muldrow Bulldogs!
FRAN BEWLEY, K-12 SCHOOL COUNSELOR, GANS PUBLIC SCHOOLS
