Webbers Falls man strikes pedestrian

A pedestrian was killed on Thursday near Tonkawa after reportedly being struck by a Webbers Falls man.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol of the Kay County Detachment reported Leland Jackson, 59, of Kaufman, Texas, was struck just before midnight on I-35 northbound at the 210 mm by a 2019 International driven by Jimmy Roark, 57, of Webbers Falls.
Jackson was pronounced deceased at the scene by Tonkawa firefighters. He reportedly suffered head injuries and was transported by the medical examiner to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.
Roark was uninjured, according to the accident report.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation as of press time.
