Muldrow VoAg Show Barn named after Morton

The Muldrow Board of Education unanimously voted to name the VoAg Show Barn the Don Morton Animal Science Facility during their regular monthly meeting on Feb. 13.

The Muldrow Board of Education unanimously voted to name the VoAg Show Barn the Don Morton Animal Science Facility during their regular monthly meeting on Feb. 13.

In employment matters, Crystal Carver, Ashley Johnson and Donna Weidetz were all hired as substitute teachers for the remainder of the school year and the board accepted a resignation from Douglas Kinney. Leah Agent was also approved as an adjunct instructor for Anatomy and Physiology delivered at ICTC during the 202324 school year.

Bids were received for a TPO Roofing System from Heritage Hills Roofing for $236,950 and Tier Contracting for $242,500, while Coryell Roofing and Construction Inc. bid a Duro-Last Roofing System for $390,318.02. The board voted to accept the bid from Coryell Roofing and Construction Inc. to stay consistent with the roofing repairs already in place for the elementary school roof repair.

Superintendent Clifta Fugett, during her report, discussed the February calendar, basketball playoff assignments, Legislative update, spring sports schedules, the National School Board Convention to be held April 1-3, and School Board training points.

Janelle Tyler, Renee Claborn and April Obregon also presented the Career Fair that was held on the high school campus on Feb. 8.

In financial matters, the board approved the following for 2022-23: General Fund Encumbrances #422-465 for $112,130.04; Building Fund Encumbrances #13-14 for $7,218.04; General Fund Payroll Encumbrance #5019450195 for $30,317.96; financial reports; and fundraiser requests as listed.

Also approved during the meeting were:

• Salary Stipend of $500 for District Teacher of the Year

• Renewal contract with Oklahoma Teachers Leader Evaluation provided by Employee Evaluation Systems, Inc. for 2023-24

• Changes to policies of the District: CW; CWE; EFA; EFA-E1; EFAE2; EFA-P; EFA-R1; EJF; EKR1; EKBA
