After a two-year hiatus because of COVID, the MCCO (Muldrow Cherokee Community Organization) Dancing Divas celebrated the Christmas holidays with wonderful food, beautiful decorations, and the long-awaited announcement of Lou Shupert as the “2022 Dancing Diva.”
Shupert was the unanimous choice of the line dancers. This choice was based on her dancing ability and personable attitude that are representative of all the line dancers. She is the epitome of one who dances with joy, enthusiasm, and skill that helps to create a fun-time for everyone. A framed picture of her will be displayed in the MCCO facility during the year 2023. Even though Shupert is a resident of Sallisaw, she drives to Muldrow weekly for the benefits of line dancing that exercises both mind and body, while enjoying the camaraderie of the other dancers.
An invitation is extended to everyone to participate in line dancing exercise classes. These classes are held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday and 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The first part of the class is for beginning instruction.
