Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ray Robertson #601 of Troop J reported Dathan D. Leaf, 30, was traveling southbound on OK-58 at around 9:30 p.m. in a 2022 Ford F250 pickup when he departed the west edge of the roadway and struck a delineator.
Leaf’s pickup then traveled southbound, striking an embankment, going airborne 142 feet before landing on its top and ejecting the driver. The trooper said the vehicle rolled two and one-quarter times before coming to a rest 438 ft southwest of area of impact and landing on the passenger side.
Leaf was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where he was reportedly admitted in stable condition with head, neck, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and legs injuries.
Robertson listed the cause of the accident was due to sleepy/improper acts/ movements, according to the accident report.
