The Roland Fire Department (RFD) wants to remind rural residents that they are in the final stages of preparing their 2023 annual rural fire contracts.
The cost is $50 and the department said they hope to have them in the mail by March 1.
If you live outside the city limits and inside the RFD fire district, you should receive your contract in the mail. However, the department has a large number of residences and businesses that are not on their list.
Roland’s fire district is from Cottonwood Road (S. 4760 Rd.) East to the Arkansas state line, Shamblin Road (E. 1090 Rd.) and South. This includes old Highway 64 east of Cottonwood Rd., South Paw Paw, Shady Grove, Saddleback, portions of Blue Mouse Road, and the Cosner Road area.
The department said If you have never received a rural fire contract from RFD to please let them know and they will add you to the list.
Remember, this only pertains to property that is outside of the Roland city limits.
