Kolbe administered Oath of Office in meeting

By Amie Cato-Remer Editor

The Vian Board of Trustees met on Feb. 21 for their regular monthly meeting where trustee Shane Kolbe was sworn in to the unexpired term of the Vian Board of Trustees by Mayor Dennis Fletcher.

The Vian Board of Trustees met on Feb. 21 for their regular monthly meeting where trustee Shane Kolbe was sworn in to the unexpired term of the Vian Board of Trustees by Mayor Dennis Fletcher.

The trustees voted to approve the audit report by Robert St. Pierre, CPA, PC, for the town and public works authority for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2022.

They also voted to surplus miscellaneous items removed from Miss Lilly’s building that are not needed in the remodel, and approved a lease agreement between the town and Vian Youth Baseball, Inc.

The board members went into an executive session to discuss the purchase or appraisal of real property, known as Vian Town Hall, and upon reconvening over two hours later, no action was taken on the line item.

However, the trustees did approve a two foot variance on the side yard of property located in part of Lot 1, Block 9, Stringston Addition.

Casey Fairchild’s employment was also approved for the Vian Police Department, while officer Amber Rigsby was approved for full-time employment status.

The appointment of Chase New to the Vian Volunteer Fire Department was also approved by the trustees, along with the removal of Robert Castle from the fire department.
