Storm spotter training postponed to March 29

Sequoyah County Emergency Management Director Garrett Fargo announced Thursday that storm spotters training scheduled for March 16 in Sallisaw has been rescheduled for March 29.

Ironically, the reason for the postponement is the forecast of severe weather for Sequoyah County.

The training will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will be held at the Sequoyah County Emergency Management Office, 108 E. Chickasaw Street in Sallisaw. The training will last about two and a half hours, and is available to the public, Fargo said. Fargo said he hopes to organize a task force once training and other requirements are completed.
