Sequoyah County Emergency Management has announced the storm spotter class scheduled for March 16 has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 29 due to an increase of severe weather potential.
“Sequoyah County Emergency Management just got off the phone with NWS in Tulsa and through their advisement, tonight’s storm spotter class will be cancelled,” Jonathan Teague, Deputy Director of Sequoyah County Emergency Management said.
“Due to the increase in severe weather potential, the fact that the weather would be rolling in while folks are trying to get to the class, and the fact that we, here, at Sequoyah County Emergency Management will need to be in the field, we have had to cancel the class,” he said. “We wholeheartedly apologize for the inconvenience, but our main objective here is to keep folks safe.”
Teague said the class will be held at the Sequoyah County Emergency Management office, located at 108 E. Chickasaw in Sallisaw.
