Sallisaw girls, Muldrow boys place 2nd and 3rd at Wilburton meet

WILBURTON — Sallisaw’s high school girls and the Muldrow boys track and field teams finished second and third in their respective divisions Thursday at Wilburton’s meet.

Roland and Webbers Falls’ teams also competed at the meet.

Local athletes and relay teams garnering medals (top 3) in the girls’ division were Sallisaw’s Hannah Palmer, Abby Kate Qualls, Sydney Weedon and Kayli Macon; Webbers Falls’ Anistyn Garner and Sallisaw’s 4x100m relay team (Emma Martin, Qualls, Kayli Macon and Kelsey Merrill); 4x800m relay team (Kylee Holt, Jessica Mattingly, Sarah Jones and Molly Carver); 4x200m relay team (Martin, Qualls, Mattingly and Merrill); and 4x400m relay team (Holt, Palmer, Martin and Weedon).

Palmer finished first in the long jump, Qualls was second in the long jump and third in the 100m dash, Weedon was second in the 100m hurdles and third in the 300m hurdles, Garner placed second in the 400m dash and Macon was third in the 400 .

Local athletes and relay teams earning medals in the boys’ division were Muldrow’s Zackery Parker and Trenden Collins, Sallisaw’s Sim Kilpatrick, Gore’s Liam Edwards and Aidan Dickerson and Sallisaw’s 4x100m relay team (Jackson Harris, Kilpatrick, Damarion West and Cooper Cox) and 4x200m relay team (Aaron File, Harris, Kilpatrick and Cox).

Parker won the high jump and the long jump while finishing second in the 200m dash and the 100, Collins won the 200, placed second in the high jump and long jump and third in the 100, Kilpatrick won the 100 and was third in the long jump, Edwards finished third in the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles and Dickerson was second in the 200.
