Local schools compete at windy Okemah meet

Roland boys’ finish fifth

The Roland, Central, Gore and Webbers Falls high school track and field teams competed at the ninth annual Okemah Track and Field Meet last Friday under windy conditions and the Roland boys’ finished fifth in their division.

In the girls’ division the local schools’ top finishers were Roland’s Haven Freeman (second in the 200m dash), Gore’s Hallie Kinion (fourth in the 1600m run and the 3200m run), Webbers Falls’ Anistyn Garner (sixth in the 200m dash and long jump) and Central’s eighth-place

4x100m relay team (Cambree Bair, Ayrland Jiles, Allie Harris, Avery Warner).

Roland (9 points) finished 16th in the girls’ division, Gore (8) was 17th and Webbers Falls was 20th (2). Stroud (98 points) was the girls’ champion.

The local schools’ top finishers in the boys’ division were Roland’s Paul Johnson (second in the 100 and 200m dashes), Kyeree Hall (second in the high jump) and Davohn Hall (second in the high jump), Gore’s Liam Edwards (fourth in the 300m hurdles), Central’s Braxin Goodson (ninth in the 1600m run) and Webbers Falls’ Stryker Chappell (10th in the high jump).

Roland (45 points) placed fifth in the boys’ division, which was won by Luther (110), Gore (7) was 20th and Central (6) was 21st.
