11 Vian girls’ middle schoolers medal at Henryetta meet

4x100m relay team places third

Eleven members of Vian’s seventh and eighth grade track and field team and the Lady Wolverines’ 4x100m relay team medaled at the recent Henryetta Middle School Track Meet.

HENRYETTA — Eleven members of Vian’s seventh- and eighth-grade track and field team and the Lady Wolverines’ 4x100m relay team medaled at the recent Henryetta Middle School Track Meet.

Medals were awarded to the top 5 places in the individual events and the top 3 places in the relay events.

Eighth graders receiving medals for the Lady Wolverines were:

Tina Rautenberg, first (56.3) in the 300m hurdles and second (19.8) in the 100m hurdles;

Shelbie Glass, first (12’, 7”) in the long jump and third (14.1) in the 100m dash;

Tuffie Hobson, fourth (50’, 4”) in the discus and fifth (24’, 3”) in the shot put; and

Brook Byers: fourth (11’) in the long jump.

Seventh graders earning medals for Vian were:

Lakoeta Cheater, first (10’, 8”) in the long jump;

Emry Smith, second (62’, 4”) in the discus and second (25’, 7”) in the shot put;

Maddison Turman, second (4’, 2”) in the high jump) and sixth (14.9) in the 100m dash;

Brooklyn Cox, sixth in the long jump (8′, 2″);

Hanna Medrano, sixth in the discus (36’, 8”); and

4x100m relay team (Kylie Covey, Rautenberg, Turman and Glass) finished third.
