A Sallisaw man charged with six counts of sexual crimes with at least four underage females from 2012 to 2022 has now been set for a jury trial.
Rusty J. Waters, 44, is scheduled for a jury trial at 9 a.m. on May 1 in Sequoyah County District Court, according to court records.
Waters is facing three counts of child sexual abuse and three counts of rape. The charges were formally filed against Waters on Dec. 22, 2021.
According to an affidavit, one of the victims was still in diapers when the alleged sexual abuse began in 2012 and continued to the present. The victim told investigators that she wore diapers until she was about 6 or 7 years old because she wet the bed.
The crimes involved at least four different victims. The offenses continued until the minors were around 13 or 14 years old, according to the affidavit.
