Gore boys 3rd at Porter meet; Vian girls, Central boys 5th

The Gore boys’ track and field team placed third recently at the Porter Pirate Invitational Track and Field Meet and the Vian girls’ and Central boys’ squads each finished fifth.

The Gore boys’ track and field team placed third recently at the Porter Pirate Invitational Track and Field Meet and the Vian girls’ and Central boys’ squads each finished fifth.

Gans and Webbers Falls also competed at the meet and Webbers Falls’ results appeared in the April 21 edition of Your TIMES.

Local individuals earning medals (top 3) in the girls’ division at Porter were Vian’s Maci Smith (1st in the high jump), Kalli Jo Kennedy (1st in the 100m hurdles), Aubrey Gant (2nd in the high jump) and Kala Gibbins (3rd in the 100m hurdles), Gore’s Hallie Kinion (1st in the 3200 and 800m runs) and Amelia White (3rd in the 800m run) and Central’s Avery Warner (2nd in the 400m dash).

Medaling in the boys’ division were Gore’s 4x800m relay team (1st), 4x400m relay team (2nd), Keigan Reid (3rd in 3200m run), Liam Edwards (3rd in 110m hurdles), Aidan Dickerson (3rd in 400m dash) and Journey Shells (3rd in high jump), Central’s Mason Blalock (2nd in 800m run), 4x200m relay team (3rd) and Coy Blackburn (3rd in 800m run) and Vian’s Marshal Ross (3rd in shot put).

In the girls’ team standings Colcord (130 points) won the meet and finishing fifth through eighth were Vian (61), Webbers Falls (51), Gore (27) and Central (20).

Colcord (129 points) finished first in the boys’ division, Gore (81) was third, Central (47) placed fifth, Vian (6) was 12th and Gans (1) was 13th.
