Members plant seeds of change

By Billie Anthony

Nine ladies weighed in this Monday. Donna had the best weight loss for the week with 2.5pounds. The Two Bit Bowl name drawn was Billie. This week’s challenge will be “Plant Seeds of Change by Springing into Action. Spring is the season for new beginnings and new commitments. We all know that healthy habits don’t just appear overnight. They need a foundation— or roots—to grow.

Let’s take this time to plant Seeds of Change together as a TOPS family, so that we may blossom into our new healthier selves by summer. This week we have a few challenges to start our weight loss journey into summer: call, text or email a TOPS friend; set a healthy goal you want to achieve; get moving; stay active indoors; go for a walk with a friend and finally lose weight this week.

Our program today was sharing our time at State Recognition Day at the Grand Casino in Shawnee OK. Donna, Virginia and Billie listened to special speakers, motivational speakers and entertainment by several TOPS Chapters. The theme for this year was ‘Go Team Go! Sports. The TOPS quilt was won by Bob Rolph. Next year’s SRD will be April 19-20 at the Grand Casino in Shawnee. The theme will be ‘At the Hop with TOPS.’ We are looking forwards to another year and hopefully be some of the participants in having lost weight.

We closed our meeting with the TOPS Pledge.

EVERYONE is invited to visit. The first visit is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:30am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:30am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
