Think on these things
Who give us more trouble than anyone else? Sometimes we are the worst. We bully ourselves to do something we know is not right. We refuse to ignore something that is not good for us. In fact, we tend to think we are free and we can eat and drink and smoke and swear, and no one can tell us not to do it. We are in charge of what we do, are we not? Yes, and it is so pitiful.

We have all the power we need to get on the right road and stay there. Don’t declare that it is not easy to discipline ourselves, but recognize that if we don’t we are going to fail everything. But once we see a little victory, there is a burst of good feeling and a desire to win again. Those are the first steps out of a muddy hole.
Refuse to be a failure and shake off the suggestion to do one more evil thing. Just don’t do it. Move into a circle of accomplishment – even if we have to try and try again. The day will come when it will not be an effort, and if it is, we will take joy in being able to overcome a thing that has been a rock on our backs.
