Collins, Kilpatrick, Parker win titles at 4A state meet

Muldrow’s Trenden Collins, Sallisaw’s Sim Kilpatrick and MHS’ Zackery Parker won a combined three events and ten medals at last week’s Class 4A boys’ state track and field meet at Ardmore High School and the Muldrow boys’ finished third in the team standings.

Lincoln Christian (111 points) placed first in the boys’ division and Muldrow registered 48 points. Sallisaw registered 21 points and finished 11th.

In the 4A girls’ team standings Sallisaw scored 10 points and tied Cleveland for 23rd place.

The two-day event ended Saturday. Collins won his second-straight high jump title after clearing 6-6 and the senior also placed second in the long jump, third in the 400m dash and fifth in the 200m dash.

Kilpatrick won the 200m dash, placed second in the 100m dash and sixth in the long jump.

Parker finished first in the 300m hurdles, third in the 100m hurdles, sixth in the high jump and 13th in the long jump.

Carmen Fields’ sixth-place finish in the discus earned the Lady Bulldog senior a medal and the Bulldogs’ Teaguen Collins also medaled after tying Parker for sixth in the high jump.
