During the weeks of May 15 to 28, 2023, Sequoyah County law enforcement tended to 35 animal calls, 191 traffic stops, along with numerous medical and domestic calls according to police reports. Following is a list of incidents included from last week’s reports:
5/15/23
11:22 a.m.- Argument- In the vicinity of Highway 101. RP advised there is a surveyor attempting to survey land and a subject is interfering. It is not physical at this time. -Steven Edwards responded.
7:30 p.m.- Breaking and Entering- In the vicinity of E. 952 Rd. RP advised her friend sent her a message on facebook and said two guys were trying to break into their house with an axe to fight her dad. She does not have a phone number for the friend. -Allen Ramey, Mark Choate and Duwaine Chase responded.
5/16/23
10:29 a.m.- Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of 64B. RP advised there was a guy walking north to 101 but he is in the opposite lane. Advised he was carrying a generator. Jeans, jacket, about 5’10, dirty, has a beard. -Steven Edwards responded.
2:41 p.m.- Property Dispute- In the vicinity of S. 4696 Rd. RP advised her neighbor closed the gate on the road again making it to where the RP does not have access to her road. RP advised she went to the courthouse yesterday and where the gate is, is included in her property taxes. RP said this isn’t the first time this happened. Last time the deputy that was there told her to call if it happens again. -Brian Stone advised it was civil.
4:14 p.m.- Harassment- In the vicinity of S. 4696 Rd. RP is requesting the deputy to come back to her residence. She advised the neighbor has come back out and closed the gate, and is causing problems. -Shane Petree responded.
6:31 p.m.- Petit Larceny- In the vicinity of E. 967 Rd. RP advised near the old Flute Springs church, two individuals (a male and a female) attempting to cut copper off some newly installed telephone lines in the area. There is a brown Toyota car near the individuals. -Brian Stone responded.
6:53 p.m.- Property Dispute-In the vicinity of Hwy. 101. RP would like to speak to a deputy, he stated that he had his property surveyed yesterday and his neighbor moved the pins that were placed. The neighbor also called in and wants to speak with a deputy in regards to her neighbors yelling at her. -Allen Ramey responded.
5/17/23
9:35 a.m.- Argument- In the vicinity of S. 4760 Rd. RP advised her boyfriend is there, screaming, and won’t leave. He was screaming and yelling at her yesterday, and putting dents in her car. No weapons. Now walking down driveway trying to find a ride. -Justin Deuley responded.
3:30 p.m.- Other- In the vicinity of Hwy. 101. RP advised she is disabled and gets meals delivered to her this week, but her meals were left at her neighbor’s residence. They are behind the locked gate and she is trespassed from the property, and she cannot get them. She wants to know what she can do to get her meals. -Jeff Neighbors responded.
6:04 p.m.- Shooting Firearms/ Unsafe- In the vicinity of 101. RP advised a male driving a tan Chevy Silverado extended cab was having road rage and pointed a 9mm pistol at him out the window. Incident occurred near Sparks, from there the suspect started east on 101. – Jeff neighbors responded.
10:38 p.m.- Child- In the vicinity of 1150 Rd. RP advised his child is with the mother and she is walking around without the child. He would like to know if he can just go pick his child up. -Jeff Neighbors responded.
5/18/23
8:56 p.m.- Domestic- Across from the nursing home, pots and pans involved, no further. At 10:41 p.m. RP called back and advised they are fighting again. -Cody Parkerson, Vian PD and Charles Webber responded.
5/19/23
1:23 a.m.- Traffic- OHP requested a deputy drive out the area of 101 near the Akins Cemetery to see if there is any property damage from a vehicle that wrecked in the area. They advised a truck with overhead lights left the area headed towards Sallisaw. -Cody Parkerson responded.
2:10 p.m.- Stolen Property In the vicinity of S. 4610 Rd. RP advised he received a call from his neighbor earlier this morning saying there was an older model Chevy, tan in color, parked outside his house with a male driver with darker blonde hair. He just got home and he is missing a go-cart, as well as a few other items. -Shane Petree responded.
3:05 p.m.- Harassment- In the vicinity of Ray Fine Blvd. RP advised a subject works in the machine shop next to their residence and has been harassing them. She stated she spoke to a deputy earlier today about 12:54 a.m. and they told her if she sees him working at his shop, to call dispatch and they’d arrest him on his warrant. The call was not logged. -Austin Blackfox responded.
8:34 p.m.- In the vicinity of yellow bridge. RP was a female caller, she stated there is a male wearing a black shirt and khaki pants choking a female in a pink shirt. Her phone disconnected before further information was given. -Steven Edwards responded.
5/20/23
12:51 a.m.- 10-6 busy- Out with a car off the road. -Mark Choate responded.
1:01 a.m.- Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of S. 4507 Rd. RP advised there are several men outside their house that are stating their vehicle is stuck in a ditch. 808 advised this is the same he was just out on. -Mark Choate responded.
6:16 p.m.- Disturbance- In the vicinity of S. 4730 Rd. RP would like to speak to a deputy in regards to her neighbor causing damage to her yard. Neighbor drove through the RP’s yard and created ruts. -Duwaine Chase and Allen Ramey responded.

3:12 a.m.- Disturbance- In the vicinity of Hwy. 59. RP advised there is an intoxicated male at their residence, and they want him to leave. -Mark Choate and Cherokee Nation Marshals responded.
2:47 p.m.- Welfare Check- In the vicinity of E. 1060 Rd. RP called and advised his neighbor came to his home and was bleeding on one arm, and was talking out of his head. -Austin Blackfox responded.
8:27 p.m.- Follow Up- In the vicinity of Hwy. 59 N. RP advised there was a male on his property this morning and was arrested. He wants a deputy to come look around and check the building where he was located to make sure there isn’t anything that doesn’t belong there. -Steven Edwards responded.

6:49 p.m.- Vandalism- In the vicinity of E. 1046 Rd. RP advised the windows have been busted out of his truck while he was away from home. -Jeff Neighbors responded.
5/23/23 11:34 a.m.- Suspicious Person- RP advised the neighbor lady, wearing a red shirt and sweatpants, keeps trying to walk into her home and it’s scaring her kids. She’s afraid her dogs may try to bite her if they feel she is threatening their home and children. -Daniel Whitus responded.
5/24/23
11:23 a.m.- Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of Hwy. 101. RP advised there was a female trying to get into his truck. When he approached her to ask what she was doing, she started walking off and he told her he was going to call the cops. She told the man to call them and began walking east on 101. -Austin Blackfox made an arrest.
3:24 p.m.- Trespassing- RP advised her neighbor let his mules out yesterday and they got into her mother’s yard. RP advised him he was on private property and needed to leave, and he ignored her. RP also advised the neighbor’s wife beat the RP up some time in the past. -Austin Blackfox responded.
7:40 p.m.- Disturbance- In the vicinity of S. 4650 Rd. RP advised a subject went on to his property and was saying he was from the water department. RP stated that he was on drugs and is driving up and down his road in a red 4-door Chevy pickup. -Mark Choate responded.

4:40 p.m.- Debris in Roadway- RP called and advised there is a stepladder in the roadway near the Dollar Store at Rocky Point that he ran over. -Steven Edwards responded.
6:34 p.m.- Threats- In the vicinity of E. 1050 Rd. RP called and wanted to speak with a deputy concerning threats. She advised her neighbor is making threats over a peacock in his yard. She advised that the peacock is not even hers but her neighbor is complaining to her. -Mark Choate responded.

2:03 p.m.- Stolen Property- In the vicinity of Hog Creek. RP advised she had some property stolen out of Sallisaw about a month ago and it was handled by Sallisaw PD. She is now stating some of the property is at Hog Creek and Sallisaw PD advised her to contact us to send a deputy. -Cody Parkerson responded.
4:24 p.m.- Disturbance- At Family Dollar. Received a call from the manager on PD phone saying there is a female outside yelling and scaring customers. -Gore PD responded.

11:07 a.m.- Other- In the vicinity of S. 4492 Rd. RP advised his neighbor’s daughter came over and told him that her dad had left a suicide note. She doesn’t know where he is and that him and his dogs need to hide because he can get violent. -Galen Irvin responded.

10:47 a.m.- Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of E. Cherokee Ave. Indian male with no shirt on, jeans and dark hair was in their driveway, kicking up in the air, acting strange. Before we hung up she said he is walking back down the road toward Marble City.
1:55 p.m.- Disturbance- RP called and asked for a deputy at Hickory Creek boat ramp near Tenkiller State Park. She advised a woman tried to run her over with a vehicle. The RP will be near a tan and dark brown Chevy. -Justin Deuley, Cody Parkerson and Tenkiller State Park responded.
11:41 p.m.- Other- In the vicinity of E. 985 Rd. RP advised she and a friend are staying in a cabin in the woods, and they have received a notification that their vehicle has been tagged and they were possibly followed. -Charles Webber and Jeff Neighbors responded.
