INDIANAPOLIS — The Oral Roberts baseball team will face Oregon in the Eugene Super Regional starting at 7 p.m. today at PK Park in Eugene, Ore.
The Golden Eagles, who are making their second Super Regional appearance and first since 2006, claimed the Stillwater Regional title after going 3-0 with wins over No. 11 overall seed Oklahoma State, Washington and Dallas Baptist.
ORU, who holds a 49-11 record, is currently riding the nation’s longest active win streak (21) and is 39-3 in its last 42 contests.
The Golden Eagles enter the best-of-three series with the second-most wins in the country and rank top 10 nationally in fielding percentage (.984), win/loss percentage (.817), batting average (.324), hits (690), earned-run average (3.83) and WHIP (1.26).
ORU, who captured their 21st Summit League title en route to the conference’s automatic bid, is currently in the midst of its 30th NCAA Tournament appearance.
Friday’s and Saturday’s contests will be televised on ESPNU. Saturday’s game will take place at 8 p.m.
If a winner-take-all game is needed, it will take place Sunday at a time to be determined later.
