05/29/23 to 06/05/23,

Weeks of May 29 to June 6, 2023. Sequoyah County Law enforcement tended to 10 animal calls and 137 traffic stops, along with numerous medical and domestic calls, according to police reports. Following is a list of incidents included from last week’s reports:

5/29/23

1:32 a.m. — Suspicious person. In the vicinity of Highway 82, RP advised of a person walking south on 82 shining a flashlight around in the area like they are looking for something. -Jeff Neighbors and Charles Webber responded.

11:01 a.m. — Stolen property. In the vicinity of East 1097 Road, RP was letting a business partner use a truck and some other work-related equipment. They had a disagreement, and now the business partner is refusing to bring the equipment back. RP would like to report it stolen. -Austin Blackfox advised it was civil.

5/30/23

1:09 a.m. – Assist. In the vicinity of Highway 64B and Mineral Spring, male subject called and wanted a ride home, stated he hit an animal and his bumper was loose and he did not feel like driving anymore. He said the vehicle was drivable, but he did not want to drive. -Duwaine Chase responded.

1:45 p.m. — Trespassing. In the vicinity of South 4770 Road, RP advised that her grandson’s friend comes into her home without invitation and gets into her fridge. RP advised that she advised the male to get out of her house, and the male refused, so RP grabbed the male by his shirt and told him again to get out. RP said the subject then threatened her and said if she ever touched him again, he would hurt her or maybe even kill her. -Roger Johnson and Austin Blackfox responded.

2:58 p.m. — Assault. In the vicinity of South 4770 Road, RP advised that his mom hit his friend with her car while he was grabbing his things. -Brian Stone, Roger Johnson and Austin Blackfox responded.

10:47 p.m. — Fight in progress. RP called and reported a possible fight near the water tower in Marble City. She could not see the fight or how many people were involved, but could hear a female screaming. -Steven Edwards and Duwaine Chase responded.

5/31/23

2:57 p.m. — Stolen property. In the vicinity of Pier 7, RP reported a gas drive off that happened on Monday. RP advised they also attempted to do it again last night. Vehicle is a silver Toyota 4Runner. -Daniel Whitus responded.

4:16 p.m. — Disturbance. In the vicinity of South 4611 Road, RP would like to speak with a deputy in regard to her neighbor lining up rocks in her yard supposedly blocking the right of way. -Daniel Whitus responded.

11:06 p.m. — Shooting firearms unsafe. RP reported there are subjects at the Sallisaw Creek on Drake Road shooting guns. He advised the subjects would shoot some, and then scream and yell and then shoot some more. -Charles Webber responded.

6/1/23

2:30 a.m. — In the vicinity of Highway 101, RP advised that there was a white Chevy Yukon in her drive. She could not see anyone in the vehicle, but said her dogs were going crazy, so she did not know if anyone was out around her home. -Cherokee Nation Marshal responded.

4:37 p.m. — Harassment. RP advised a black Ford F-150 threw a dog out of the truck at South U.S. 59, and the RP’s daughter picked up the puppy and took a picture of the truck. The male in the truck then followed the RP back to his residence and yelled at his daughter. -Daniel Whitus responded.

6/2/23

10:44 a.m. — Information. RP advised that a subject is a felon and has taken a gun from his place of work in Little Rock, Ark., and is on probation out of Arkansas. Supposedly staying on Mondier Street in Roland. -Austin Blackfox responded.

8:02 p.m. — Welfare check. In the vicinity of Highway 17, RP advised he saw his ex-girlfriend at the store on 17. He opened her car door to try to see his son, and she took off driving north on Highway 17 with her door open. He is now wanting a welfare check on her. He does not know her address. -Steven Edwards responded.

6/3/23

11:19 a.m. — Welfare check. RP advised that they had stopped in the Dollar Store on U.S. 59 North and could not find an employee. There were two vehicles in the parking lot. -Brian Stone responded.

7:56 p.m. — Disturbance. In the vicinity of South 4770 Road, RP requested a deputy for a disturbance. He advised a subject was there and was in a dispute with his wife. During the call, the subject left the house on a 4-wheeler taking the back roads to Swan Road. -Edwards Stevens responded.

6/4/23

10:18 a.m. — Welfare check. RP reported there is a camper blocking the road at Applegate near space 27. They have tried to make contact with anyone in the camper with no success. They also had attempted to contact the camp host, and could not contact them. He believed the camper had been there at least overnight and maybe longer. -Shane Petree responded.

6:03 p.m. — Property dispute. In the vicinity of South 4696 Road, RP advised that neighbor had padlocked a gate, preventing them from getting onto their property. Deputies have been at this location before, and other party was supposedly told they can’t block access to RP’s property. -Duwaine Chase responded.

7:21 p.m. — Complaint. In the vicinity of South 4696 Road, RP advised they went to open gate, other party came out and started arguing with them and brought her dogs that are being aggressive. -Cody Parkerson made an arrest.

8:13 p.m. — Suspicious person. In the vicinity of South 4600 Road, RP advised there was a female in the bushes by his fence. -Steven Edwards responded.
