Cox and Denton were among five ORU baseball players who made the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region Team, from which the first team All-Americans were selected.
Joining Cox and Denton on the All-Region Team were right-handed pitcher Brooks Fowler, left-hander Harley Gollert and right fielder Matt Hogan.
In his sophomore campaign, Fowler has registered a 9-1 record and 3.27 earned-run average in 16 starts heading into the CWS. In 77 innings of work, the Jenks native has struck out 74. Fowler has allowed two earned runs or less in 11 of his starts this season.
Gollert, who is in his lone season at ORU, was named to the second team after logging a 10-1 record to go along with a 4.30 ERA. The 10 wins are the most by a Golden Eagle since Miguel Ausua in 2017. In 88 innings of work, the redshirt senior has punched out 88 batters.
In his first season with ORU, Hogan leads the squad with 18 homers, 70 RBI and 51 walks. The senior holds a .332/.477/.678 slash line and has also swiped nine bases on the year. The Melville, N.Y., native’s 18 long balls currently rank ninth all-time in program history for a single season.
