And if you choose to do that Saturday, you’ll be participating in the recognition of two national days of observance — National Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day and National U.S. Postage Stamp Day.
If you’ve been among those who always seem to scream for ice cream, it’s your day to sample an exotic ice cream flavor or wonder about an odd combination of flavors you’ve been reluctant to try.
While traditional flavors like chocolate, vanilla and strawberry are just fine the other 364 days of the year, July 1 is the perfect day for exploring your wild side.
But if licking a frozen dairy dessert isn’t your thing, there’s always those little critters found in the upper right hand corner of envelopes — you know, those paper things that used to be all the rage before email took over.
On a day when you’d think ice cream was enough to celebrate, it’s also a day to honor the postage stamp.
