07/04/23 to 07/10/23

During the week of July 4 to 10, 2023, Sequoyah County law enforcement tended to five animal calls, 89 traffic stops, along with numerous medical and domestic calls according to police reports. Following is a list of incidents included from last week’s reports:

7/4/23

12:48 a.m.- Other- In the vicinity of Beverly Dr. RP called and said her neighbor across the street was popping fireworks in the roadway. RP wanted to know what the law was, if any. -Vian Police Department responded.

8:43 a.m.- Breaking and Entering- In the vicinity of E. 1007 Rd. RP advised his mother’s house is vacant and it looks like someone had broke in. He went and looked around and there was no one there, so he thinks it may have happened sometime overnight. -Daniel Whitus responded.

9:05 a.m.- Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of Tenkiller State Park. RP advised the male was walking around naked in front of the kids. Last night they could not find him and he is now standing outside watching the kids again. He is wearing grey shorts, has grey hair and balding. -Daniel Whitus responded.

9:29 a.m.- Property Dispute- In the vicinity of E. 1000 Rd. RP advised she has a legal easement to be on this property, but her neighbor keeps denying her access to the property. He says it is his property, but the RP got a survey and it is not his. She said it looks like the neighbor is about to put up a fence around the property he thinks is his. RP said he used to put different obstacles in the driveway so she wouldn’t have access. She wants a deputy to speak with the neighbor. -Daniel Whitus responded.

5:09 p.m.- Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E. 1130 Rd. RP advised she had an acre of land surveyed. RP advised she went by the property today and the survey stakes have been pulled. RP believes her neighbor done it and would like to speak with a deputy. -Jeff Neighbors and Galen Irvin responded.

7:43 p.m.- Sig 87/88- At Gore Landing. RP advised drunk individual on tube wearing red hat. Advised he is saying racial slurs to everyone and antagonizing fights. -Jeff Neighbors responded.

8:02 p.m.- Complaint- At Moffett Schools. RP advised there is a large group of young teenagers shooting fireworks at each other. -Michelle Rigsby responded.

9:56 p.m.- Suspicious Person- RP advised that the male subject that park units have been attempting to contact is at his camp site now. -Tenkiller State Park responded.

7/5/23

8:18 a.m.- Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of E. 1100 Rd. RP advised that there was a male with no shirt on the side of the road with all of his belongings in his car and the doors to his vehicle open. -Austin Blackfox responded.

11:15 a.m.- Fraud- In the vicinity of Stage Coach Rd. RP stated they bought a 16×80 mobile home from a subject for $4,000 cash and has a bill of sale but no title. When she went to the property where trailer is located, the people living there said the subject gave the trailer to them. -Shelton Fair responded.

2:32 p.m.- Burglary- In the vicinity of E. 966 Loop. RP checked on his boat at the Strayhorn boat slips and found someone had cut locks and stolen approximately $2,845 in property. -Shelton Fair took this report.

9:24 p.m.- 10-6 busy- To assist SPD. RP very argumentative and cussed all dispatchers. Stated his wife is bleeding and there is blood all over the bed. Says she is standing there naked, bleeding. -Duwaine Chase made an arrest.

9:42 p.m.- Disturbance- In the vicinity of S. 4513 Rd. RP advised his neighbor is shooting fireworks possibly towards them and the kids. -Steven Edwards responded.

7/6/23

7:04 a.m.- Extra Patrol- In the vicinity of S. 4626 Rd. RP is requesting extra patrol in the area. He advised a younger female in 20’s walking the area, dark hair and a backpack. Yesterday she marked the roadway in front of his house with a line and 800 after. Then today he found plastic under a rock in front of his house. -Michelle Rigsby responded.

3:48 p.m.- Assault- In the vicinity of S. 4767 Rd. RP advised that there is a female walking up and down the road trespassing onto people’s property and threatening the kids outside. Female is wearing black pants and carrying a black backpack. -Austin Blackfox give a verbal trespass order.

4:41 p.m.- Fraud- RP called and wanted to talk to a deputy concerning attempted fraud use on her Walmart account. She advised each time the use happened, she was able to block it and has not been out anything. RP wants to see what steps she needs to take to stop the attempted thefts. -Gans responded.

7:33 p.m.- Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E. 1083 Rd. RP wants to know what she can do about her dad picking up a car he gave to her. -Duwaine Chase responded.

7/7/23

8:55 a.m.- Other- In the vicinity of West Sequoyah and Cherokee St. V310 received a call that a man was trying to undress himself. -Justin Deuley responded.

3:51 p.m.- Disturbance- In the vicinity of E. Cherokee. Sallisaw PD advised they are out with a vehicle that was throwing trash out their car going down Hwy. 64 from Gans to Sallisaw. -Daniel Whitus responded.

8:18 p.m.- Other- In the vicinity of S. 4523 Rd. RP called and wanted to talk to a deputy about illegal dumping on 4523 Rd. where he owns property. -Charles Webber responded.

10:33 p.m.- Other- RP called and advised that he was receiving some calls from a subject over the sell of a boat. The RP was out of town and wanted to talk with a deputy. -Jeff Neighbors responded.

7/8/23

8:26 a.m.- Trespassing- In the vicinity of WW Grocery. Male subject is at the store in a dark colored shirt and blue jeans. He has been trespassed before and he has been there since 6 a.m. and is looking through the windows. -Galen Irvin responded.

4:54 p.m.- Stolen Property- In the vicinity of Blue Ribbon Inn. RP wants to make a report for some stolen boots. The boots were left at a residence just outside of Gore and the subject that has them will not return them. -Daniel Whitus responded.

9:24 p.m.- Welfare Check- RP advised his girlfriend is at a bridal shower and the people there are refusing to let her leave. RP advised his friend was going to be en route to check on her also. -Charles Webber and Jeff Neighbors responded.

7/9/23

4:49 a.m- Sig 76-Accident- In the vicinity of Hwy. 59 and 1025 Rd. Vehicle off roadway, driver is unresponsive and breathing. Appears to be intoxicated, trooper has been notified. EMS and Fire are responding. -Cody Parkerson responded.

3:43 p.m.- Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of Hwy. 64. RP advised her dad’s goats were picked up last night after one was involved in an accident. She is needing to know where the goats are and how they can be retrieved. -Randy Freeman responded.

10:10 p.m.- Disturbance- In the vicinity of E. 1097 Rd. RP is from Ark1 Adjustors. He is at this location with an order to pick up a trailer that was rented and not returned. People at this location are telling him he is not taking it and threatened to hurt him. -Cody Parkerson responded.

7/10/23

7:59 a.m.- Threats- In the vicinity of S. 4758 Rd. RP advised his neighbors that live across the street from the old Baptist church on Cottonwood have been threatening him. RP parked his trailers behind the Baptist church and a subject began yelling at him, and yelling profanities at him for parking there. RP advised he’s been trying to get ahold of the church to get permission to park there and the subject again began yelling profanities and threatening him. He wants a deputy. -Austin Blackfox responded.
