ORU women’s soccer announces 2023 schedule

“This team is looking forward to this season,” Risenhoover said. “As you can see, we have given ourselves some tough challenges in non-conference as we feel it will prepare us on our quest to be champions. The Summit League is always a battle with the qualities and challenges that lie ahead. We had a great spring, we have gotten better and we are excited about this schedule.”
ORU opens its season on the road at Texas A&M-Commerce on Aug. 17 followed by a trip to Norman to face the Oklahoma Sooners on Aug. 20.
The Golden Eagles will host Arkansas-Little Rock for their home opener at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Case Soccer Complex. ORU will then head across town to play the University of Tulsa on Aug. 27. After a trip to Missouri State on Aug. 31, ORU will entertain North Texas during Labor Day weekend Sept. 3.
After two road games at Central Arkansas on Sept. 7 and at Kansas State on Sept. 10, ORU will close out the nonconference slate with a home game against Tarleton State on Sept. 14.
ORU will open the Summit League portion of the 2023 schedule with three consecutive road games beginning at Denver on Sept. 23, followed by a trip to Nebraska-Omaha on Sept. 28, and a match at Missouri-Kansas City on Oct. 1.
The Golden Eagles will then play four of their remaining five regular season games inside the friendly confines of the Case Soccer Complex. North Dakota State comes to town Oct. 5, followed by St. Thomas on Oct. 8. After a road match at North Dakota on Oct. 15, the Golden Eagles will welcome South Dakota State on Oct. 19 and South Dakota on Oct. 22.
The top six teams will advance to the Summit League Women’s Soccer Championship with the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds Oct. 27-29 at campus sites and the championship Nov. 4 at the campus site of the highest seed remaining, for a chance at the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
