U.S. 64 narrows near Arkansas state line
Repairs to the deck of the Garrison Avenue Bridge over the Arkansas River on U.S. 64 in Fort Smith began July 17. This work will require a continuous lane closure in each direction until the project is complete. The project is expected to be completed in approximately six months, weather permitting.
Repairs to the deck of the Garrison Avenue Bridge over the Arkansas River on U.S. 64 in Fort Smith began July 17. This work will require a continuous lane closure in each direction until the project is complete. The project is expected to be completed in approximately six months, weather permitting.
Traffic will be controlled with the use of barrels, message boards and signage. Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling in the area.
The bridge connects eastern Sequoyah County and downtown Fort Smith.
