Members throw themselves into fitness

By Billie Anthony

We had nine weigh in today. We want to welcome new member, Brenda, to our chapter. Mary had the best weight loss for the week with 3.5 pounds gone. Great job, Mary! Keep up the good work! We had three sign the Losers Lotto card and three smiley faces taken off the Surprise Box. This week the Two Bit Bowl quarters went to Mary. Our Chapter Challenge this week is to journal every day for seven days also an extra challenge for the week is to exercise with a Frisbee 10 minutes a day for five days.

We took Brenda’s beginner photo. We will be there to encourage Brenda as she starts her weight loss journey. Brenda retired from Aviagen and so now she is able to attend our meetings.

The program was from the latest TOPS magazine. Title of the article was “Throwing Yourself into Fitness”. We exercised with Frisbees. The extra challenge of using the Frisbees ten minutes a day for five days will have a reward of keeping the Frisbee for future use. It helps to play your favorite songs to each different exercise.

Monday, July 31, we will be celebrating Installation of Officers for 2024. We will weigh in at the church and then drive over to Aromas for lunch and installation. Part of the program will be telling how Esther Manz started TOPS CLUB 75 years ago.

We closed our meeting with the TOPS Pledge. EVERYONE is invited to visit. The FIRST VISIT is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:30am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:30am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
