The Vian FFA chapter was represented at the 51st annual Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp. For the first time in 40 years, the event will be hosted at a new location, the Cedar Hills Baptist Youth Camp in Binger, Okla.

More than 1,650 FFA members from over 300 Oklahoma FFA chapters registered to take part in one of the six 2 1⁄2-day sessions scheduled from July 2 to 15. Those in attendance included Tressa Sandlin, Kala Gibbins, Tuffie Hobson, Ally Trotter, Izzy Clouse, and Natalie Guthrie.

This year’s camp, themed “Linked: Communicate to Connect”, is designed to engage FFA members in a series of fun and action-packed activities aimed at developing intrapersonal, familial, and clear communication skills.

Special presenters at the camp will include kickoff speaker Bill Cordes from Kansas, and keynote speaker Brad Barton from Utah.

The Oklahoma FFA Alumni Association sponsors the leadership camp, with generous financial backing from corporate sponsors such as the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, NextEra Energy, Trusted Choice Insurance Agents, Amazon, Public Service Company of Oklahoma, Cherokee Nation, and P and K Equipment.

The FFA and FFA Alumni are an integral part of the agricultural education division within the Oklahoma CareerTech System. The Oklahoma FFA Alumni Association’s primary goal is to create a robust, effective statewide organization to promote, serve, and support agricultural education and the FFA.
