It’s National Health Care Center Week, and Sallisaw Health and Wellness Center is celebrating the addition of new Urgent Care services, and extended clinic hours for the Sallisaw facility.
On Tuesday, Rep. Jim Olson joined Health and Wellness COO Brooke Lattimore and Dr. Toby Hamilton, CEO of Hamilton Health Box, to officially open the Urgent Care clinic. The clinic is part of a new group of health care clinics aimed at serving rural locations around Oklahoma.
Hamilton Health Box, the administrator of the Urgent Care clinic, says that the Sallisaw Clinic will utilize new technologies to quickly diagnose, and treat patients.
Located at 1630 South Kerr Blvd., the Urgent Care clinic will offer services for non-life threatening conditions that require immediate attention, things like mild-to-moderate cuts, scrapes, burns, and acute illnesses (respiratory, allergies, urinary or skin infections).
The Urgent Care will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. They accept some private insurance, and use a sliding-scale payment system for uninsured individuals. The clinic is also a VA-authorized healthcare provider.
