Police Logs 08/01/23 to 08/06/23

During the week of August 1 to 6, 2023, Sequoyah County law enforcement tended to 13 animal calls, 100 traffic stops, along with numerous medical and domestic calls according to police reports. Following is a list of incidents included from last week’s reports:

08/01/23

8:30 a.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of E. 950 Rd. RP advised that a subject is trespassing onto his property. He believes she has cut the lock on his gate. He just bought the property and they were supposed to be serving her an eviction notice, unknown if it has been served yet. -Daniel Whitus responded.

4:08 p.m. – Speak With Deputy – In the vicinity of 4759 Rd. RP stated that there is a renter at the residence who is stealing water and tampering with the water meter. RP stated that he has made reports on the individual in the past and nothing has been done. – Vian PD responded.

7:07 p.m. – Fraud – In the vicinity of 4690 R. RP reports that his spouse has gotten several spam calls from someone pretending to be Armstrong Bank, and the caller becomes irate. RP seeks advice. -Justin Deuley responded.

9:26 p.m. – Suspicious Person – RP reports her wife is in the vicinity of 4629 Road and a male is parked sort of behind her and she cannot leave. RP stated male has a Pit Bull with him.

9:46 p.m. – Other – In the vicinity of Hwy. 10A. RP reports erratic driver. RP said he chased him for a few miles and couldn’t get a tag. Also stated that the individual had almost ran people off of the road. -Gore PD responded.

08/02/23

2:16 a.m. – Suspicious Person – In the vicinity of 110 Rd. RP advised that there was a male subject outside their residence in an orange shirt with no sleeves and a black cap with a lamp on it. RP ran him off their property and he went down the road. RP then saw the suspect walking down the neighbor’s driveway. -Cody Parkinson responded.

9:10 a.m. – Other – Eastbound I-40 near MM 293 – RP reports a man in a wheelchair heading westbound in the eastbound lane of I-40. RP called trooper and he is on a follow-up so RP is requesting a deputy. -Brian Stone responded.

2:25 p.m. – Other – In the vicinity of 1050 Rd. RP reports neighbor’s dogs keep running his cows around, and wanted to speak to someone about it before he starts killing the dogs. -Austin Blackfox responded.

3:17 p.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 1130 Rd. RP states someone has stolen their dumpster. -Brian Stone responded.

3:33 p.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 1050 Rd. RP reports the license plate was stolen from his vehicle. The vehicle was parked in his front yard last night and he found the plate missing this morning. RP is looking for the registration to find the tag number but is requesting a report. -Brian Stone responded.

6:19 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – In the vicinity of 4471 Rd. Gore PD advised they received a call from RP stating there is a suspicious vehicle that keeps parking on their property. They would like a deputy to come and speak with the suspect. Gore PD received no other information, dispatch attempted to contact RP, but there was no answer. -Mark Choate responded.

6:50 p.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 957 Rd. RP advised he had a trailer stolen from his property. -Mark Choate responded.

8:44 p.m. – Breaking and Entering – At the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. RP reports he is a member of the church who cares for the property. He stated around 3 p.m. today a male broke into the shed on the property, and that they have the suspect on camera breaking in. RP is still unsure if he is in the shed. RP reports he is returning to his residence and that there should be no other vehicles on the property. – Duwaine Chase responded.

11:02 p.m. – Suspicious Person – In the vicinity of Pier 7. RP reports a man in a white T-shirt and blue jeans with a Ford Explorer parked in the back. -Steven Edwards responded.

08/03/2023

10:13 a.m. – Speak With Deputy RP spoke with deputy yesterday and has advised deputy that her landlord is trying to cut off her electricity again today. -Austin Blackfoot responded.

1:10 p.m. – 911 – In the vicinity of Highway 101. RP reports they received a call from a female saying she needed help, didn’t know where she was and someone was trying to kill her. Phone went dead and RP could not get the female back on the phone. -Michelle Rigsby responded.

3:57 p.m. – Follow Up – In the vicinity of 4476 Rd. RP is a police officer investigating the theft of a stolen utility trailer from the city. RP would like a deputy to make contact with a citizen who may have bought the trailer from the suspected thief. RP would like a deputy to make contact and investigate. -Brian Stone responded.

4:05 p.m. – Fraud – in the vicinity of 4749 Rd. RP advised that she has had her identity stolen and has had several issues with her ex-husband over the past six months. RP would like to make a report and seek information on obtaining a protective order. RP canceled the request for help prior to deputy responding.

4:45 p.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of 1110 Rd. RP advised two suspects are on the property where they have been trespassed. – Austin Blackfoot responded.

7:34 p.m. – Alarm – Sequoyah Fuels had an alarm going off on NW doors, they made contact with the wife of the keyholder and she said to dispatch someone. -Mark Choate responded.

9:40 p.m. – Alarm – In the vicinity of 4505 Rd. An alarm was going off, the alarm company made contact with the keyholder and no one was supposed to be at the residence. -Jimmy Carson responded.

08/04/2023

2:32 a.m. – Alarm – In the vicinity of Highway 59. An alarm company called in a keypad alarm for a residence. The homeowner could not be contacted by phone. -Sallisaw PD responded.

11:14 p.m. – Speak with Deputy – RP called wanting to know the laws on carrying a pistol in his car, and requests to speak to a deputy. -Michelle Rigsby responded.

2:20 p.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of 4770 Rd. RP reports that his cousin is on his property, has cut his fence and is cutting his hay. Suspect was told by RP he is not allowed on property. RP is heading home, and his spouse is at the residence. -Trevor Charlton responded.

3:43 p.m. – Complaint – In the vicinity of 1097 Rd. RP wants to speak with a deputy about a vehicle transaction where he and a party from Howell, Okla. traded vehicles. Now the party in Howell would like his vehicle back and is threatening to report the vehicle stolen. RP was advised this is a civil matter, but requested to speak to a deputy by telephone. -Daniel Whitus responded.

11:23 p.m. – Disturbance – In the vicinity of Cedar Springs Court. RP reported someone knocking on the front door, but RP did not see anyone. -Vian PD responded.

08/05/2023

12:15 a.m. – Suspicious Person In the vicinity of I-40 near MM 316. RP advised that a male in his underwear had approached his vehicle. – Cody Parkerson responded and the suspect was arrested.

7:23 p.m. – Speak With Deputy – In the vicinity of US-64. RP stated he was working farm labor for a family and when he asked them for money, one of the sons approached him with a knife. -Daniel Whitus responded.

1:59 p.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 1010 Rd. RP called and advised that he found some items on his property that he felt were possibly stolen. He thought the items were painting related equipment. Justin Deuley responded.

2:07 p.m. – Speak with Deputy – RP would like to speak to a deputy regarding a situation she spoke to him about yesterday. She was advised that he would not be out until later this evening and it would be after a shift change. -Allen Ramey responded.

3:07 p.m. – Alarm at Dollar General. An alarm was set off. – Trevor Charlton responded.

3:29 p.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of 4770 Rd. RP called and wanted to speak with a deputy about trespassing. He said his uncle cut his fence to go onto his property and cut hay. RP said he had deputies to the property yesterday. -Trevor Charlton responded.

4:57 p.m. – Other – In the vicinity of US-59. RP called and wanted to speak with a deputy and have some information documented over her recent eviction. She advised that she was having problems with her landlord. The landlord also called to speak with a deputy as well. -Daniel Whitus responded.

5:20 p.m. – Fraud – In the vicinity of 4720 Rd. RP advised her son is using her debit card without her permission and has been stealing money from his sister. -Blakley Smith responded.

6:31 p.m. – Stolen Property at McQuick’s – RP called and advised that she had left her wallet on top of her car while at McQuick’s. The wallet fell off and someone took it. Somehow the RP was able to obtain video of the person finding the wallet. She wanted to file a theft report but had a business meeting to attend and advised she’d call later to file a report. RP called back shortly and advised that she’d posted the wallet on a Facebook page and received a message immediately from a community member who said her father had found the wallet and that she could come and get it. Upon arriving at the house, RP told the community member that a deputy would be contacting them. The community member then became defensive. -Charles Webber responded.

10:04 p.m. – Alarm at Post Office – Report of an alarm going off in the post office. – Vian PD responded and found everything to be secure.

11:26 p.m. – Hit-and-Run accident – In the vicinity of 1091 and 4760 Rd. -Allen Ramey responded.

08/06/2023

11:09 a.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – In the vicinity of 4760 Rd. RP advised there is a blue Ford F-150 at an abandoned house next to RP’s residence and it appears that he is stealing things. RP stated the suspect attempted to take items from his property as well. -Justin Deuley responded, but the call was canceled by RP prior to deputy arrival.

11:51 a.m. – Alarm – In the vicinity of 4768 Rd. Alarm company called to advise they have an alarm going off at a residence. Company tried to call homeowners to no avail. -Justin Deuley responded, but the call was canceled by RP prior to deputy arrival.

11:54 p.m. – Disturbance – In the vicinity of 975 Rd. RP reported that six juvenile family members were at her home fighting and tearing things up. -Cody Parkinson responded.

12:38 p.m. – Phone Call – RP called and asked to speak to a deputy because her neighbor’s goat is on her property and her neighbors cut the tree on her side of the fence. -Daniel Whitus responded.

12:47 p.m. – Breaking and Entering – In the vicinity of 1015 Rd. RP advised that he has a cabin in Nicut and the past three days, it has been broken into and he would like to file a report. -Justin Deuley responded.

1:56 p.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of Highway 101. RP advised he is at the edge of his property and saw someone has dug up his fence and tore part of it down. Suspect has been previously trespassed from the property and is now standing at the edge of the property as well, arguing with the RP. RP said he was taking his phone out to take photographs of her. Dispatch advised RP to separate until a deputy arrived. -Justin Deuley responded.

2:11 p.m. – Suspicious Person – In the vicinity of Highway 64B. RP reports that there is a male subject wearing a hat, cut off shirt, and blue jeans who is highly intoxicated in RP’s yard. RP stated he asked the person to leave and the suspect “stepped up” at him. RP threatened so fired a .22 into the air. Suspect then left walking south on 64B and laid down in a neighbor’s yard. -Daniel Whitus responded.

4:06 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – In the vicinity of Highway 59. RP advised there is a red Ford Focus blocking the roadway and the entrance to his driveway. -Daniel Whitus responded.

4:35 p.m. – Stolen Property at Rocky Point Dollar General – RP called to advise that her wallet was stolen from her vehicle, and that the suspect had gone through her console also. -Cody Parkerson responded.

5:02 p.m. – Suspicious Person In the vicinity of Lower Illinois Bridge. RP states a male with long hair is wearing a ski mask and walking in circles around a white vehicle. -Justin Deuley responded.

5:04 p.m. – Argument at Pilot station – Officer advised he will be out with some subjects who are arguing outside. -Allen Ramey.

7:44 p.m. – Drugs at Sweet 16 Motel – RP reports receiving a call from some people that just rented a room at this location and believe they have found Title 63. -Charles Webber responded.

8:01 p.m. – Argument In the vicinity of 1058 Rd. RP advised she lives in the home and someone is telling her she has to leave. Subjects have not been physical. -Charles Webber responded.

10:20 p.m. – Fraud – RP thinks he is being scammed but doesn’t want to give his address until he speaks with a deputy- Cody Pakerson responded.
