Funeral services for Doyle Lamont Green, 83, of Sallisaw, will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Doyle Lamont Green passed this life on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, in Tulsa, with his family by his side. He was born on June 20, 1939, in Paw Paw, Oklahoma, to Milton and Delores (Norman) Green.
He married the love of his life, Mary Yvonne Stinnett on Sept. 15, 1976, in Sallisaw. Doyle retired from Hiland Dairy after over 30 years. He was a proud Navy veteran. He also was a 61 year member of the Muldrow Bruton Masonic Lodge and a 61 year member of the Sallisaw Masonic Lodge.
Doyle was known to be quite the character with a dry wit and joking personality. He enjoyed reading, Westerns, playing pitch with his friends and keeping up with the Oklahoma City Thunder. “Papa,” as he was known, loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and his wife, Yvonne, collected antique cars and even belonged to a car club competing in car shows. Doyle and his wife loved traveling. Every June, they loved traveling and attending the annual Stinnett reunions.
Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Jill Wheeler of Edmond; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynda and Mike Real of McKey, Tanya Green and Buddy Shore of Wisconsin and Nikki and Shane Stroud of Pottsville, Ark.; one sister, Angela Casey of Fort Smith, Ark.; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Linda Stinnett of Coweta; sister-in-law, Jodie Stinnett of Tulsa;10 grandchildren, Michelle Real, Melinda and John McKinney, Natasha and Jason Sodowski, Matt and Ashley Real, Tiffany and Kevin Horan, Ryan and Billie Jo Wheeler, Kai Stroud, Chase Stroud, Daniel Stroud and Julie Shore;12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yvonne Green; one son, Mark Wheeler; one brother, Norman Green; and one grandson, Shane Wheeler.
Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
