IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State placed 11 student-athletes on the 2023 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Team, which was announced last week.
The Cowboys had nine student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 First Team status, highlighted by Jaxson Crull and Zach Ehrhard making the list with 4.0 grade-point averages.
Along with Crull and Ehrhard, Cowboys on the Academic All-Big 12 First Team are Drew Blake, Marcus Brown, Ian Daugherty, Nolan McLean, David Mendham, Bayden Root and Riley Taylor.
Chase Adkison and Aidan Meola are Cowboys named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
Three of the Cowboys’ Academic All-Big 12 selections are now two-time honorees, with Brown, Crull and McLean each repeating as first-teamers.
A total of 72 student-athletes were named to the 2023 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Team. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.2 GPA or better, while the second-team selections hold a 3.0-3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
