Sallisaw cross country teams runners-up in Poteau meet; Black Diamond individual medals for top 10 finish
POTEAU — Both Sallisaw High School cross country teams were second in both the boys and girls divisions of the Frisco Trail Cross Country Meet on Friday.
POTEAU — Both Sallisaw High School cross country teams were second in both the boys and girls divisions of the Frisco Trail Cross Country Meet on Friday.
The Black Diamonds had 48 points, coming in second to host Poteau, which had a perfect score of 15 points.
Sallisaw’s Dawson Glover finished seventh with a time of 12:44.42 to earn a medal, which went to the top 10 runners in each division.
Jorge Thomason was 12th (14:02.1), Ethan Wilhite was 17th (16:41.26), Brecken Hennessee was 22nd (18:23.92) and Jackson Jiles was 23rd (19:23.07).
In the girls division, the Lady Black Diamonds scored 50 points, coming in second to the host Lady Pirates who also scored a perfect 15 points.
Molly Carver just missed out on medaling as she was 11th (15:48.82), but all Lady Black Diamonds runners made the top 20.
Nicci Davis was 14th (17:22.54), Haley Birdcall was 15th (17:47.07), Michelle Loudon was 16th (18:31.79), Zurri Knight was 17th (18:42.58), Jazmyne Wright was 19th (21:05.72) and Kali Crowe was 20th (21:06.2).
