Lady Vikings cross country team wins Mena meet
MENA, Ark. — The Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings cross country team won its season-opening meet on Saturday as they won the Bucks XC Season Opener with a score of 15 points.
MENA, Ark. — The Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings cross country team won its season-opening meet on Saturday as they won the Bucks XC Season Opener with a score of 15 points.
Not only did the Lady Vikings win the meet, they also had the top two finishers in the 5k meet as Calli Connally won the meet with a time of 22:23.5, while teammate Jacie Moffatt was runner-up (22:33.5).
Lin Lee was fifth (25.26), Valeria Velasco was eighth (27:15.7), Destiny Lawson was ninth (27:34.8) and Mackenzie Lingenfelter was 11th (28.49.8).
“The girls ran great (on Saturday),” CASC coach Kristin Snyder said.
In the boys race, the Vikings only had four runners complete the 8k course, but they finished in consecutive order.
Brayden Stoval was 12th (34.10.9), followed by Brady Allen in 13th (35.03.7), Caleb Berger in 14th (37:08.5) and Brady Billingsley was 15th (37.40.2).
The CASC runners will next compete in their own meet on Friday in which it will be a shared college/high school meet as the Poteau High School teams will host the high school portion of the meet and CASC the college portion of the meet.
