OSU track leads Big 12 with 60 Academic All-Big 12 honorees

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State men’s and women’s track had 60 athletes named on the 2023 Spring Academic All-Big 12 teams, the conference announced last week.

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State men’s and women’s track had 60 athletes named on the 2023 Spring Academic All-Big 12 teams, the conference announced last week.

Both the Cowboys (25) and Cowgirls (35) led the conference in their respective sports in number of honorees.

On the men’s side, Kian Davis, Wyatt Landis, Hafez Mahadi, Alex Maier, Sam Mason, Cash Merutka, Fouad Messaoudi, Nate Nuthman, Jonas Price, Isaiah Priddey, Triston Read, Isai Rodriguez, Ryan Schoppe, Crayton Shaw, Victor Shitsama, Alex Stitt and Grant Wilcox all earned first-team honors. Blair Anderson, EJ Berry, Ben Calusinksi, Juan Diego Castro, Chris Middleton-Pearson, Will Muirhead, Daniel Nickell and Koryee Wyatt all earned second-team honors.

For the Cowgirls, Ariadni Adamopoulou, Kalaya Ali, Sivan Auerbach-x, Brooke Bayles, Allison Bliss, Molly Born, Hannah Bradford, Sara Byers-x, Emily Carter-x, Heidi Demeo, Jayden Fiebiger, Sanye Ford, Gabija Galvydyte, Bailey Golden-x, Saara Hakanen-x, Maddie Hanger, Molly Humes, Amelia Jauregui, Lilly Lavier, Maddie Meinerx, Mackenzie Michael, Micalah Millard, Annie Molenhouse, India Morgan, Stephanie Moss, Johnna Orange, Tori Ortiz, Krystal Rodriguez, Taylor Roe, Maddie Salek-x, Erin Talbott, Michaela Travers-x, Olivija Vaitaityte and Tamara Woodley all earned first-team selections. Jinah Mickens-Malik also earned second-team honors for the spring semester.

A total of 358 student-athletes were named to the 2023 Academic All-Big 12 Track Teams. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.2 grade-point average or better, while the second-team selections hold a 3.0-3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
