Sallisaw, Muldrow runners place in Early Tiger Invitational

TAHLEQUAH — Both the Sallisaw High School and Muldrow High School cross country runners competed in T h u r s d a y ’ s T a h l e q u a h Early Tiger Invitational.

TAHLEQUAH — Both the Sallisaw High School and Muldrow High School cross country runners competed in Thursday’s Tahlequah Early Tiger Invitational.

In the boys 5K race, the Black Diamonds were ninth with 244 points, followed by the Bulldogs in 10th place (264).

The highest local finisher was Sallisaw’s Jodai Sama Salinas, who was 35th (21:17).

Muldrow’s Jesse Kilinc was the highest finisher for the ’Dogs as he crossed the finish line in 21:38 to place 39th.

Sallisaw’s Dawson Glover was 43rd (22:07), with his teammate, Jonas Reid, 51st (22:45).

Muldrow secured spots 59 through 61 as Gibson Price was 59th (23:54), Wyatt Prewett was 60th (24:25) and Maliki Albertson was 61st (24:26). Teammate Hayden Bullock was 66th (25:47).

Sallisaw’s Jorge Thomason was 67th (26:14), Muldrow’s Jaxson Anstine was 68th (27:48), Muldrow’s Andrew Prewett was 71st (29:06) and Sallisaw’s Ethan Wilhite was 73rd (31:45).

In the girls 5K race, the Lady Bulldogs were eighth with 190 points.

Cailey Grinstead led the way with a 23rd-place finish as she ran the course in 24:35. Katelynn Moore was 25th (25:12), followed by Genna Stephenson in 41st (28:26), Emma Fields in 48th (29:47), Kennady Moore was 56th (32:29) and Maysi Fields was 62nd (34:08).

Four Lady Diamonds ran in the 5K race. Molly Carver was 40th (28:21), Michelle Laudan was 57th (32:42), Haley Birdtail was 60th (34:05) and Nicci Davis was 66th (35:45).
