Vian Wolverines lose to defending 2A champion Washington Warriors

WASHINGTON, Okla. — It was a rough start to the 2023 season for the Vian Wolverines, who lost 55-13 to the defending Class 2A state champion Washington Warriors on Friday night.

WASHINGTON, Okla. — It was a rough start to the 2023 season for the Vian Wolverines, who lost 55-13 to the defending Class 2A state champion Washington Warriors on Friday night.

After taking a 7-0 lead after a quarter, the Warriors (1-0) scored 14 points in the second quarter and 27 in the third period to take a commanding 48-0 lead into the final quarter.

The Wolverines (01) scored both of their touchdowns in the final period, both coming on TD runs by Masyn Wright. Mikaya Mendoza hit one of his two extra points.

For the game, Wright rushed for 167 yards and had a total amount of 176 yards as he threw a 9-yard pass. As a team, the Wolverines amassed 204 rushing yards.
