Agencies provide information, goodies to promote awareness
Local agencies, including the Sallisaw NOW Coalition, Sequoyah County Health Department, CREOKS, PAL, the Cherokee Nation and others set up tables in front of Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library on Friday in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day.
Local agencies, including the Sallisaw NOW Coalition, Sequoyah County Health Department, CREOKS, PAL, the Cherokee Nation and others set up tables in front of Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library on Thursday in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day.
In addition to providing information packets, the groups also distributed free items, which included lock boxes for medication.
Coordinating the event was the Sallisaw NOW Coalition, with staffers Micki Kimble, Coalitions Manager; Amy Pace, Prevention Services Director; Heather Silva, Special Projects Coordinator; and Summer McGarrah, Outreach Coordinator.
