Gore runner wins own meet; Sallisaw, Central, Webbers Falls, Brushy runners also compete in Gore Invitational

Gore senior cross country runner Hallie Kinion won her own meet on her final opportunity to do so in Thursday’s Gore Invitational, which took place at the Steve Owens Sports Complex. Kinion won the one-mile race in 6:37.

All total, five local schools had runners compete on the day — host Gore, Sallisaw, Central, Webbers Falls and Brushy.

In the high school girls’ one-mile race, the Sallisaw Lady Diamonds were third in the team standings with 84 points, with the host Lady Pirates fourth with 85 points.

Two local girls made the top 10 as Webbers Falls’ lone runner, Cheyanne Herrier was fifth (7:13), while Sallisaw’s Molly Carver was sixth (7:15).

As for other Lady Diamonds, Nicci Davis was 18th (8:06), Haley Birdtail was 32nd (8:50), Michelle Laudan was 37th (9:03), Jazmyne Wright was 38th (9:08), Zurri Knight was 39th (9:11) and Kali Crowe was 40th (9:15).

As for other Lady Pirates, Amelia White was 27th (8:34), followed by Raleigh Moore in 31st (8:50), Dawa Reece in 33rd (8:51), Gracie Bruce in 43rd (9:25) and Kaile Mannon in 46th (10:01).

The Lady Tigers had three runners in the high school race. Paris Campbell was the highest placer for Central as she came in 13th (7:29) in the one-mile run. Rileigh Pierce was 19th (8:10), while Callie Huff was 42nd (9:19).

In the high school boys’ two-mile race, the Black Diamonds finished third in the team standings with 70 points, while the host Pirates were sixth with 145 points.

One local runner made the top five, Sallisaw’s Jodai Sama Salinas, who was fifth (12:38). Jonas Reid was 14th (13:47), Dawson Glover was 16th (13:49), Tyler File was 28th (14:34), Jorge Thomason was 31st (15:03) and Ethan Wilhite was 51st (18:11) for Sallisaw.

Cain Cooper was the highest finisher for Gore as he finished the race in 32nd place with a time of 15:07. Burr Janes came in 35th (15:34), Waylon Gilley was 39th (16:03), Bryson Thouvenel was 44th (16:46) and Nash Thouvenel was 55th (19:51).

Noah Buzzard was Central’s lone runner as he placed 19th as he ran the two-mile course in 13:58.

The Lady Diamonds were team runners-up in the junior high girls’ one-mile race with 42 points.

Emma Coury was Sallisaw’s highest finisher as she came in 15th (8:23), followed by Daisy Reid in 22nd (9:30), Haley Callahan in 27th (9:56), Kinley Adams in 28th (9:58), Molli Blount in 33rd (10:33) and Bridgette Ashley in 36th (10:50).

Central had two JH runners place in the top 10 as Sadie Huff was fourth (7:25) and Sara Williams was fifth (7:28) on the one-mile course, while Brushy also had two runners place as Scarlett Harrison was ninth (7:52) and Phebi McMurtry was 17th (8:38).

In the junior high boys’ one-mile race, Gore and Central each scored 78 points. Since Gore’s sixth runner finished faster than Central’s, the Pirates were awarded second place, while the Tigers got third.

Trenton Cunningham was the fastest Pirate on the course with a time of 7:10 to place 12th. Rylan Lane was 13th (7:11), Weston Cunningham was 14th (7:13), Cole Brooksher was 22nd (7:34), Benson Hunt was 34th (8:11), Eli Munson was 36th (8:13) and Colton Frey was 40th (8:27).

Two Tigers made the top 10 as Aiden Cawhorn was third (6:43) and Kage Poindexter was eighth (6:58). Aiden Smith was 34th (8:13), Mason Louthan was 36th (8:14), Ian Greer was 42nd (8:58) and Justin McGlothlin was 45th (9:34).

Brushy’s Ryder Justice was 32nd in the JH boys race with a time of eight minutes flat.

Two Black Diamonds ran in the JH race. Jack Caughman was 41st (8:52), while Jace Singleton was 48th (9:52).

The Webbers Falls Warriors won the elementary school one-mile race with a team score of 34, while the host Pirates were fifth (104 points).

The Warriors had four runners make the top 10. Wyatt Chitty was third (7:19), Skylar Poles was fourth (7:21), Kylar Carter was seventh (7:26) and Bryson Franco was eighth (7:28).

As for other Warriors, Bryson Priest was 13th (7:41), while Chase Kunzel was 50th (9:04).

The Tigers were third in the elementary school boys’ race with 91 points.

Central’s Caden Bair won the elementary school one-mile race with a time of 6:25. Kevin Herrera was 20th (7:53), followed by Mason Baker in 21st (7:57), Conner Gilliam in 26th (8:06), Koleman Edwards in 27th (8:07), Jaxton Poindexter in 32nd (8:27), Hudson Gann in 33rd place (8:33), Joshua Cranford was 60th (9:26), Hunter Emerson was 73rd (10:22) and Austin Girt was 95th (13:15).

The host Pirates were fifth with 104 points.

Quinn Montgomery was 16th (7:44) to be Gore’s highest finisher. Cale Cox was 17th (7:46), Eli Montgomery was 18th (7:46), Ian Munson was 28th (8:07), Kaden Elam was 31st (8:09), Tripp Smith was 51st (9:09), Gus Smith was 62nd (9:29), Lane Harwood was 65th (9:36), Jett Ward was 78th (10:44), Briar Gandy was 80th (10:48) and Thorn Cearley was 82nd.

Brushy was eighth with 205 points.

For Brushy’s boys, Oliver Frederick was the highest finisher as he came in 19th (7:48). He was followed by Kainen Asbill in 40th place (8:49), Jackson Fleetwood in 49th (9:02), Bryson Lamp in 57th (9:20), Patrick Fletcher in 68th (9:47), Elijah Barrett in 70th (9:54), Chance Young in 83rd (10:50) and William Davis in 94th (13:12).

The Central Lady Tigers were runners-up (65 points), Brushy fourth (98 points) and Gore fifth (120) in the elementary school girls’ 1-mile run.

Three local runners made the top 10 as Central’s Emma Baggs was fourth (7:13), Brushy’s Elizabeth Fleetwood was fifth (7:27) and Central’s Cobie Cawhorn was ninth (7:48).

As for other Central runners, Graye Riggs was 16th (8:13), Michelle Kutil was 17th (8:14), Henley Riggs was 19th (8:19), Kodee Blackburn was 22nd (8:33), Bryar Goodson was 24th (8:42), Sailor Bauer was 25th (8:42), Scotti Wilson was 27th (8:45), Nevaeh Fisher was 34th (9:05), Kynleigh Crawford was 49th (9:43), Callie Thompson was 54th (9:55), Kolbie Hollis was 55th (9:58), Avery Pierce was 65th (10:17), Hadley Gann was 66th (10:20), Cora True was 74th (10:35), Ellie Greer was 83rd (11:04), Sadie Thompson was 85th (11:09) and Haven Kutil was 88th (11:15).

As for the other Brushy’s girls, Avie Lamp was 12th (7:52), Peyton Campbell was 23rd (8:33), Lilly Mcinnerney was 28th (8:45), Jaden Fleetwood was 37th (9:11), Gipsee Reed was 57th (10:03), Tayah Pena was 60th (10:08), Jamey Wickett was 97th (12:11) and Macklyn Christopher was 99th (12:16).

Annika Pruitt’s 18th-place finish was the highest mark for the Lady Pirates as she ran the course in 8:18. Ashlynn Munson was 20th (8:24), Taylor Kinion was 26th (8:42), Alivia Munson was 30th (8:52), Dakota Wolf was 31st (8:56), Kimberlynn Quick was 46th (9:34), River Johnson was 63rd (10:15), Elle Keathley was 75th (10:36), Karsyn Springer was 76th (10:43), Blakely Smith was 100th (12:17) and Emma Bruce was 102nd (12:21).

There were two Webbers Falls Lady Warriors who ran in the elementary school girls race. Madalyn Beknap was 47th (9:39), while Evie Ogg was 98th (12:12).
