Pirates get road win over Keys

The Gore Pirates ran their record to 2- 0 Friday night with a 30- 7 road win over the Keys ( Park Hill) Cougars.

The Gore Pirates ran their record to 2-0 Friday night with a 30-7 road win over the Keys ( Park Hill) Cougars.

The first score for the Pirates came on a Bladin McCartney five-yard touchdown run. Tate Broooksher ran in the two-point conversion for an 8-7 lead with 7: 55 left before halftime.

With 64 seconds remaining in the first half, Brooksher hit Hunter McGee on an 18-yard TD pass to put Gore ahead 14-7 at halftime.

Brooksher threw his second touchdown pass on a 16-yard scoring strike to James Brasuell. Brooksher ran in the two-point conversion to up Gore’s advantage to 22-7.

Gore’s final score came on Brooksher’s third TD pass of the night on a 21-yarder to McGee for his second TD reception of the game. Brooksher hit Journey Sells on the two-point conversion.

For the game, Brooksher passed for 173 yards and three touchdowns. McGee’s 57 yards rushing led Gore, while Sells caught four passes for 69 yards.
