Fishing Report for September 6, 2023

EUFAULA: Sept. 1. Elevation is normal and falling, water temperature 83 degrees and stained. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, jigs and plastic baits around points, riprap and rocks. Blue, channel and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, live bait, live shad, shad and sunfish around channels, river channel, river mouth and below the dam. White bass good on crankbaits, hair jigs and lipless baits around flats, main lake, riprap and rocks. Report submitted by Jake Rowland, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

GRAND: Sept. 5. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 85 degrees and stained. Largemouth bass fair on bill baits, buzz baits, crankbaits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits and topwater lures around shallows and shorelines. Crappie fair on hair jigs and minnows around brush structure. White bass good on in-line spinnerbaits and plastic baits around main lake and points. Comments: The white bass bite remains fairly strong on points, humps and islands especially if the wind is in your favor! Report submitted by Hank Jenks, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

GREENLEAF: Sept. 3. Elevation is normal, water temperature 90 degrees and clear. Largemouth bass slow on crankbaits, jigs, plastic baits and spoons around coves, docks and points. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around brush structure and docks. Blue catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait and shad around channels, main lake and points. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

LOWER ILLINOIS: Sept. 2. Elevation is normal, water temperature 60 degrees and clear. Rainbow trout fair on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs and PowerBait below the dam and other. Comments: Best times are early morning and late evening. Best areas are below the dam and at the Watts area. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

ROBERT S. KERR: Sept. 1. Elevation is normal, water temperature 82 degrees and murky. Largemouth and spotted bass fair on buzz baits, plastic baits, small lures and topwater lures around brush structure, channels, flats, points, standing timber and weed beds. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, goldfish, grasshoppers, hot dogs, minnows, shad, sunfish and worms around main lake, points, river channel, river mouth, tailwater, weed beds and below the dam. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows around brush structure, river channel, river mouth, tailwater and weed beds. Report submitted by Logan Shimp, game warden stationed in Haskell County.

TENKILLER: Sept. 3. Elevation is a foot below normal, water temperature 90 degrees and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, jigs, plastic baits, spoons and topwater lures around brush structure, channels, docks, points and shorelines. Crappie fair on minnows, tube jigs and worms around brush structure, docks and main lake. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait, shad, stinkbait and worms around channels and main lake. Report submitted by Cody Youngblood, game warden stationed in Cherokee County.

WEBBERS FALLS: Sept. 3. Elevation is normal, water temperature 90 degrees and stained. Blue catfish fair on chicken liver, cut bait, shad and worms around points, river channel and below the dam. Largemouth and spotted bass slow on crankbaits, jigs, plastic baits, spinnerbaits and spoons around brush structure, coves, points and river channel. White bass fair on in-line spinnerbaits, jigs and small lures around points and river channel. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

WISTER: Sept. 1. Elevation is normal, water temperature 92 degrees and stained. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits and spinnerbaits around brush structure, main lake and river channel. Blue catfish fair on cut bait and hot dogs around main lake and river channel. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around brush structure, main lake and river channel. Report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in LeFlore County.
