Gore Lady Pirates get home win over Webbers Falls for 2nd straight win

The Gore Lady Pirates picked up their second straight win as they defeated the visiting Webbers Falls Lady Warriors by a score of 15-7 on Thursday afternoon.

The Gore Lady Pirates picked up their second straight win as they defeated the visiting Webbers Falls Lady Warriors by a score of 15-7 on Thursday afternoon.

After falling behind 4-0 in the first inning, the Lady Pirates (7-14) scored twice in the first inning and seven times in the second inning for a 9-4 lead they never relinquished.

For the game, Emily Daily was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and a run batted in, Kendra Huckbay was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, River Shoemake doubled with two runs scored and an RBI, Natalie Casteel doubled with two RBIs and a run scored, Kennedy Williams doubled with an RBI and a run scored and Cadi Shoemake tripled with five RBIs and two runs scored.

Cadi Shoemake got the win, striking three batters in five innings.

In defeat, Karla Bonilla was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Lady Warriors (1-12). Maddy Raskey took the loss.

VIAN 4, ROLAND 1

VIAN 13, ROLAND 1

Monday at Vian’s Armstrong Park, the Lady Wolverines (19-5) swept the Lady Rangers (7-17).

In the opener, the Lady Wolverines scored single runs in the second and third innings for a 2-0 lead, then doubled their advantage to 4-0 with a two-run fifth inning.

The lone run for the Lady Rangers, whose Tuesday home doubleheader was rained out vs. Okmulgee and will be played at 4 this afternoon, scored on Jaydance Bean’s RBI single scoring Addyson Clark.

For the game, Hanna Mattingly was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Akeelah Truett was 2-for-3 and Kala Gibbins hit a solo home run.

Gibbins (17-4) got the win, striking out 10 batters.

In defeat, Bean was 2-for-3, while Kynlei Earnhart, Sara Qualls and Lilly Cole each singled. Emily Daws (5-11) took the loss, despite fanning four batters in six innings.

In the nightcap, Vian scored twice in each of the first and third innings for a 4-0 lead.

Roland’s lone run scored on Bean’s twoout, RBI single in the third inning, scoring Daws, to make it 4-1.

The Lady Wolverines put away the game with a nine-run seventh inning.

For the game, Maisie Wells was 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, LaKaila Drew was 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored, Mattingly was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs, Gibbins was 2-for-5 with two runs score and an RBI and Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-4 with a double.

Gibbins got the win, striking out four batters in seven innings.

In defeat, Earnhart was 2-for-4, Scarlett Qualls was 2-for-3 and Cole was 2-for-3 with a double. Daws took the loss, recording a strikeout in seven innings.

BROKEN BOW 10, MULDROW 0

Monday in Broken Bow, Broken Bow pitcher Maliyah Carney threw a six-hitter with eight strikeouts.

After the Lady Savages scored twice in the second inning and once in the third inning for a 3-0 lead, Broken Bow put the game into run-rule status with a sevenrun fifth inning.

In defeat, Amarie Duran was 2-for-2, while Danica Tune, Ashley Price, Amaya Duran and Jaydance Dean all singled for the Lady Bulldogs (9-13 overall, 1-7 in district play). Jaydin Dean took the loss, despite getting two strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

CHECOTAH 14, CENTRAL 1

Monday in Checotah, after the Lady Tigers (4-20) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a two-out, RBI single by Allie Harris that scored Ayrland Jiles, the Lady Wildcats put the game into run-rule status with a seven-run first inning, tworun second inning and a five-run third inning.

Checotah pitcher Hailey Prince threw a three-inning four-hitter with four strikeouts.

In defeat, Jiles, Harris, Avery Warner and Rylee Rowland each singled for Central. Jiles (3-19) took the loss.

PORUM 17, GANS 0

Monday in Porum, the Lady Grizzlies (113) were two-hit by Porum pitcher Mesa Coulston.

The Lady Panthers scored six runs in the first inning and 11 runs in the second inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Gabbie Price and Stevie Pratt each singled for Gans. Brianna Burris (110) took the loss.

KEOTA 11, GANS 5

Thursday in Keota, the Lady Lions jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning en route to a 7-0 advantage by the second inning.

The Lady Grizzlies scored three runs in the third inning to get back into the game as Gabbie Price stole home and Aaliyah Taylor hit a two-run double to cut the Gans deficit to 7-3 after three innings.

After Keota scored once in the fourth inning to make it 8-3, Gans scored twice on Melania Paniagua’s two-run groundout to cut the deficit to 8-5 after five innings, but the Lady Grizzlies got no closer.

In defeat, Taylor hit a two-run double, while Price, Reina Gaona and Brianna Burris each singled. Burris took the loss, getting two strikeouts in four innings.

HEAVENER 7, ROLAND 5

Last Wednesday in Roland, the Lady Wolves rallied to take the opener before the Lady Rangers took the nightcap (which was reported in Friday’s edition).

In the opener against Heavener, the Lady Wolves broke a 4-all tie with a threerun seventh inning to take a 7-4 lead.

The Lady Rangers tried to rally in the bottom of the frame as Lilly Cole’s RBI groundout scored Jazzlyn Teehee. However, the rally fell short.

In defeat, Sara Qualls was 3-for-4 with a run scored, Addyson Clark doubled and scored once and Aubriana Gragg doubled and scored once.

Emily Daws took the loss, despite fanning four batters in seven innings.
