ORU men’s golf team 7th at Gulfweed Collegiate Kickoff

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — The Oral Roberts University men’s golf team finished seventh in the Golfweek Collegiate Kickoff, which ended Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles finished seventh with an 873 (9over) scorecard. ORU had its best round in round two shooting a 284. The team was just two strokes behind Sam Houston for sixth and six strokes back from Louisiana-Monroe for fifth.
Presten Richardson finished tied for 12th in the field. Richardson shot a 68 (4-over) in round two and finished the three rounds with an even score of 216. He had eight birdies overall.
Newcomer Gustav Liljeberg and returner Rocco Repetto-Taylor each shot a 219 (3-over) in the tournament to finish tied for 22nd. Both Liljeberg and Repetto-Taylor each had eight birdies and one eagle.
The Golden Eagles will participate in the Graeme McDowell Invitational, which will take place Sept. 25-26 in Gadsden, Ala.
