God’s Pit Crew and Moffett School host Blessing Bucket assembly

God’s Pit Crew and Moffett School took part in a special assembly event on Saturday morning, filling over 1,000 Blessing Buckets with much needed emergency supplies at the school campus.

School members and local community members used specially designed mobile assembly lines to gather the buckets and fill them with items that will help provide hope and help for survivors of major disasters.

This event also helped to replenish the inventory of Blessing Buckets that have already been distributed for disasters that have occurred so far this year.

Staff members, students and community members helped fill the crew’s 5-gallon Blessing Buckets with non-perishable food, first aid supplies, hygiene items, bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement.

Moffett School and God’s Pit Crew have a storied past together. In May 2019, the small town experienced a devastating flood, impacting every house and structure in the town. The Arkansas River broke records when it rose to over 40feet, leaving the entire town under several feet of water for nine days.

Moffett School, which serves students from Pre-K through eighth grade, is the hub of its community. It sustained major damage during the flood. God’s Pit Crew Founders, Randy and Terri Johnson, visited Moffett to experience the damage first-hand. After talking with pastors, and many residents throughout the small town, there was one consistent request being asked, “Please help rebuild our school.”

God’s Pit Crew committed by faith to return to Moffett that August to begin rebuilding the school. The project was fully completed just three weeks after they had set out to restore the school that had been so devastatingly impacted.

“We are very grateful for the heartfelt relationship between God’s Pit Crew and Moffett School. It is truly a blessing for all of these people to gather together and take the time to assemble these Blessing Buckets,” God’s Pit Crew Blessing Bucket Operations Manager, Miki Jenkins, said.

“Blessing Buckets are desperately needed for disaster survivors and are God’s Pit Crew’s first line of response after disaster strikes. The buckets provide emergency supplies, along with emotional and spiritual encouragement when people need it the most,” she said.

With frequent disasters seeming to happen with little time in between, God’s Pit Crew is thankful for all supporters who donate and volunteer to assemble Blessing Buckets that are ready to be distributed without haste when times of turmoil strike. The buckets completed in Moffett will remain in the region under the care of City Serve to aid in their disaster response.

“We are so thankful for the people that go above and beyond to help us fulfill our ministry’s mission of providing hope and restoration back into the lives of disaster victims,” Randy Johnson, president of God’s Pit Crew, said. “The work that God’s Pit Crew is able to accomplish would not be possible if it weren’t for our amazing volunteers and donors.”

Since the beginning of the year, God’s Pit Crew has responded to 12 disaster situations throughout the country and delivered over 17,000 Blessing Buckets to disaster victims.
