ORU men’s soccer team nips Incarnate Ward
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The No. 24 Oral Roberts University men’s soccer team earned a 2-1 win at Incarnate Word on Sunday afternoon.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The No. 24 Oral Roberts University men’s soccer team earned a 2-1 win at Incarnate Word on Sunday afternoon.
Incarnate Word jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the eighth minute of the game. Francisco Segura scored the goal with a header to the right side. His goal was assisted by Joel Perez.
In the 58th minute, Haruki Yamazaki dribbled the ball through the defenders to near the outside the goal and passed it through to Felipe Medina who connected with the back of the net to tie the match. It was Medina’s second goal of the season and Yamazaki was credited with the assist.
As the match was tied with 2:30 to play, Juan Moreno scored the game winning goal for the Golden Eagles. Moreno first sent a shot that went off the crossbar before ricocheting back to him. He then sent another shot over the keeper to score his second goal of the season.
ORU will head to St. Louis to face the Saint Louis Billikens at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
