STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State women’s soccer team remained perfect on its home field this season with a 2-0 win over Abilene Christian on Sunday at Neal Patterson Stadium.

With the win in its final nonconference match of the regular season, OSU improved to 8-2-0, including a 5-0-0 mark at home, while ACU fell to 5-3-1.

Logan Heausler and Laudan Wilson scored for the Cowgirls, with Xcaret Pineda recording assists on both goals, and Grace Gordon had a pair of saves to post her third shutout of the season.

Just more than nine minutes into the match, OSU got on the scoreboard. After Heausler stole the ball from the Wildcats, she dropped it off to Pineda at midfield, where Pineda juked a defender, dribbled ahead and sent a perfect ball between a pair of defenders to a streaking Heausler. With one touch to get past ACU’s charging goalie, Heausler delivered a left-footed shot to the near post for her fifth goal of the season.

OSU doubled its lead off a set piece in the 60th minute. Pineda sent the free kick into the box, where Wilson was able to sneak her right foot in and deliver a shot to the near post. Wilson’s goal was her third of the season and gave the Cowgirls a 2-0 advantage.

The Cowgirls dominated the stat sheet, outshooting the visitors by a 34-4 margin and owning a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks. The 34 shots tied their season high, while the 15 corners was a new standard for this season and tied for the fifth most in a game in program history.

OSU returns to action Thursday when the Cowgirls entertain Kansas in their Big 12 home opener. Kickoff from Neal Patterson Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
